Just Another Friday

FOXFORD steps back from the Black Friday frenzy in favour of a pre-loved pop-up shop at their County Mayo mill.

This year, after careful consideration, FOXFORD will be bowing out of Black Friday in a move that reinforces our commitment to a ‘buy better, buy less’ ethos.

As we become painfully aware of the environmental and social pressures facing us all over the coming years, we feel strongly that now is the time to promote thoughtful consumption and encourage our customers to invest in an expertly crafted and designed products that will last a lifetime.

At FOXFORD we know that buying better ultimately means buying less. Our beautifully made throws and scarves are designed, woven and quality checked by an extremely skilled workforce at our woollen mill in the West of Ireland. Our bedlinen is designed in Ireland in collaboration with one of the country’s most renowned designers, Helen McAlinden and we use only the finest cotton that is expertly made in Portugal. Our prices are a fair reflection of the hours of work that go into creating each piece, and we want every one of our customers to take time to consider their purchase and to hand them down to future generations.

These principles have always been part of our heritage – FOXFORD was founded over 130 years ago by Mother Agnes in the hope that it would support and serve the local community. And as such, the people and landscape surrounding us play an important role in the day-to-day running of the mill. Quality craftsmanship is woven into our history; we have stood by it for over a century and continue to do so today.

So, this Black Friday will be Just Another Friday at FOXFORD.

We will be encouraging our customers to invest in Irish design and craft online and in our shops for your gifting or to wrap yourself up in the nostalgia of Christmas memories.

Our team will be busy in another way, we will be running a pre-loved pop-up in store from Monday 21st November. The FOXFORD team will be opening their wardrobes and bringing in some of their favourite pre-loved pieces with the hope of giving them a second life through a new owner. All proceeds will be donated to a charity chosen by the team.
